Rusalka - beautiful beaches

Rusalka Holiday Village – It is located 90 km northeast of Varna near the reserve "Taukliman" - "Bird Bay" natural and the archeological reserve "Yailata”. The holiday complex was projected by the model of the French "Club Mediterraneo". There are evidences that Rusalka was inhabited 8000 years ago, and for centuries Thracians, Romans, Slavs, Byzantines and proto-Bulgarians lived there. This is proved by many different ancient remains of stone and clay objects, antique and medieval castles, rock tombs, caves, and sacrificial stones.

The village itself has over 600 double bungalows on the beach. There are mineral springs with temperatures 32 degrees, near the resort. The complex has all kinds of sports facilities: fifteen tennis courts, mini football, mini-golf and volleyball, gym, fitness, horse riding, yacht club, diving school, bike trails, water skiing, jet skis, scooters, water slides etc. Guests have the ability to practice also table tennis, surfing, fishing and archery.

Taukliman
Reserve "Taukliman" - "Bird Bay" - The area is famous for its small beaches, numerous small rocky islands and high caves. It is assumed that the caves were used for living, and later - as sanctuaries of Thracians, Romans and Byzantines. Most interesting of them are located in the upper part of Tauk. The Tuzla Lake is located in the area, subject to compulsory attendance since its bottom is covered with healing hydrogen sulfide. The area is an ornithological paradise, because from there go thousands of migratory birds which stop to feed and rest there. Here you can watch hundreds of birds such as gulls, geese, golden, eyes, etc. Besides these, permanent shelter in the muddy pond found protected species - owl, long-legged buzzard, great olive warbler and reptiles - European glass lizard and many other species

Rusalka

Kaliakra cape Kaliakra cape was declared a natural and architectural reserve. There is a famous legend about the cape – the story says that 40 virgins tied their hair together and jumped into the water to escape falling into the hands of the Turks. In fact the place was inhabited since the 4th century BC by Thracians. In - late Hellenistic period a wall and towers were created, which formed internal and external city. Today there can be seen only the remains of the walls, as well as caves and beautiful scenery. The Cape is suitable for observation of birds and dolphins.
Yailata
"Yailata" - The area was declared a national archaeological reserve in 1989. The reserve is located 2 km south of Kamen Briag and 18 km north-east of Kavarna. Represents а terrace separated from the sea by rocks 50-60 feet in height. In the area was found cave "city" with 101 "houses", dating from 5000 BC. In the northern part has been preserved early Byzantine fortress from the late 5th century, partially preserved towers and four gates. In the middle Ages the caves were used as a monastery complex.
