{"id":1824,"date":"2013-12-11T10:32:04","date_gmt":"2013-12-11T08:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/toprentacar.bg\/en-news\/?p=1824"},"modified":"2022-11-25T10:20:08","modified_gmt":"2022-11-25T08:20:08","slug":"terminal-2-burgas-airport-officially-opened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toprentacar.bg\/en-news\/terminal-2-burgas-airport-officially-opened\/","title":{"rendered":"New Terminal 2 at Burgas Airport: officially opened!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Finally, the brand new terminal 2 at Burgas Airport is open for passengers. <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><strong>All flights soon will be redirected from T2 to the new T2. <\/strong>It can service 2500 peope per hour, which was announced by the Transport Ministry.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>On the area of \u200b\u200b21000 square meters operate 31 check-in counters, which can process documents of 1250 arriving and departing passengers equally, or 2500 all together. <b>The number of passengers that could be serviced per year is 2.7 millions<\/b><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3>Watch the video from the official opening ceremony here:<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0bHY29xOYwg?list=FL0bPuG0jbswXDcj7KYelgfg\" height=\"281\" width=\"500\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><b>Designed by UK-based architects Halcrow Group<\/b>, Pascall+Watson in partnership with SavantElbul of Bulgaria, Burgas terminal is said to integrate characteristic elements of Bulgarian nature \u2013 such as the rose, a national symbol \u2013 and architecture.&nbsp;<strong>Investment in design and construction of the terminal by the concessionaire &#8220;Fraport&#8221; is worth 80 million BGN (about 40 million EUR).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The building meets the requirements related to the requirement for Schengen zone and it has modern line management systems of passengers and baggage, along with integrated systems for electronic measurement and control processes. <strong>All processes in the new terminal are automated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1066\" alt=\"terminal-2-letishte-burgas-2\" src=\"https:\/\/toprentacar.bg\/bg-novini\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/terminal-2-letishte-burgas-2.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The new facility&nbsp;has large areas for arriving and departing passengers, <strong>state-of-the-art baggage and passenger handling systems, attractive shopping areas, extended to an area of about 2000 square meters<\/strong>. According to Deputy Minister Todorov this is the biggest investment made at Burgas Airport in the recent decades.
