All over Varna there are remnants from the Romanian Empire, mostly in the central part near the Marine Garden. Most of them are fenced but the well conserved parts of Romanian Baths can be visited as regular museum. Only 3 km away from the city the visitors can admire the “Pobiti kamani” – it’s a fossil forest from boulders in different shapes.

FestivalsIn April at Varna is held a Crafts Festival. There are craftsmen from all over Bulgaria and they take orders or just sell their products. There’s also the European Musical Festival where a classic music is played. In July there’s an International Ballet Competition that’s however biennial.
In August the International Jazz Festival “Varna’s summer” and the International Folklore Festival are held. Varna also celebrates the Week of the Sea, and by the end of the months, the Film Festival “Love is folly” begins. Another fest is the triennial festival “August in Arts” that aims to popular the visual arts. The second Sunday of August is the Navy Day that’s accompanied with the Navy orchestra and some of the navy ships can be visited.
