Toyota plans to launch cars that run on hydrogen on the European market in the beginning of 2015. This was announced by the vice president of marketing and planning for Europe Elian Yutenhoven .

According to him, the time of hybrid cars is gone and now it’s time to seek for new areas for expression of the producers.

However, hydrogen cars will be released in limited edition, because the price is quite serious – about 100,000 euros. Despite that, Toyota hopes that it will meet the customers’ expectations as it will cover all the environmental requirements in Europe.

According to Yutenhoven, in the beginning the car will be designed for daily travels within the city. It will replace the hybrids who are better for longer runs, especially between cities.

Earlier this year, General Motors’ vice president Alan Taub estimated that in the next 12 years the cars running on alternative fuels such as hydrogen will displace from the market those with an internal combustion engine.
